PIB-Shipbuilding Indonesia – Netherlands Cooperation in Indonesia Shipbuilding Sector

Jakarta Following the signed covenant of Shipbuilding Cluster Indonesia, The Water Agency started their role as the local liaison for Partner for International Business for Shipbuilding program. This program was initiated by the Dutch Government to assist Dutch companies in market research and business development with the Indonesian shipbuilders.

Background

PIB Shipbuilding was created to bridge the cooperation in shipbuilding between the Dutch shipbuilding sector and Indonesian shipbuilding sector through government, companies, and universities. The objective of PIB Shipbuilding is to position the cooperation in a sustainable way in Indonesia shipbuilding market.

During the Trade Mission on 12th March 2020 in Surabaya, the partners from the Netherlands and Indonesia visited ITS (Sepuluh Nopember Institute of Technology) and see firsthand about the development of shipbuilding in Indonesia. An MoU focusing on the cooperation in knowledge sharing in the shipbuilding industry between Indonesia and The Netherlands was signed during this time.

We hope the cooperation between the Netherlands and Indonesia in the shipbuilding sector will benefit both countries in the coming years and help the industry to grow more in Indonesia.
