Penajam (ANTARA) - Clean water supporting facilities in Sepaku Sub-district, North Penajam Paser District, East Kalimantan, continue to be constructed as part of the requirements for building the new state capital (IKN) Nusantara.
"The work for the construction of clean water facilities to meet the needs of IKN Nusantara continues to run," Assistant II for the Economy and Development of the Regional Secretariat of North Penajam Paser District, Ahmad Usman, stated on Monday.
The dam's construction, with a budget of Rp676,726 billion, in Sepaku Sub-district continues to be conducted by the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) and has entered the physical development stage.
The Sepaku-Semoi Dam, comprising a dam body covering an area of 36 hectares and an inundated area of 342 hectares, has a capacity of 11.6 million cubic meters, with a water flow rate of 2,500 liters per second, Usman revealed.
Sepaku Sub-district's areas that are included in the development project for dam construction include the Tengin Baru and Sukomulyo villages, while the Argomulyo Village area is affected by the development project for the dam's inundation areas.
"The dam is intended to support water and food security as well to prepare for the new capital's relocation that is targeted to be completed in 2023," Usman stated.
The PUPR Ministry is also building other supporting infrastructure for clean water supply in Sepaku Sub-district, specifically the water intake and river transmission pipeline network, with an area of about 14.8 hectares and funding of Rp364 billion.
The water intake and river transmission pipeline, with a capacity of three thousand liters per second, will be located on the border of the Sepaku, Sukaraja, and Bukit Raya villages.
"Land acquisition for the construction of the intake and river transmission pipelines is being processed and the compensation amount is targeted to be paid this year. Preparations for the physical work have begun," Usman remarked.
The construction budget to support clean water supply in Sepaku Sub-district is sourced from the State Budget.
