Introduction to Disaster Risk Management
A disaster is defined as an occurrence causing a level of suffering that exceeds the capacity of adjustment of the affected community. Disaster risk management is how one copes, predicts or tries to minimize the human, material, economic or environmental impacts of a disaster, it is the procedure of how we "prepare for, respond to and learn from the effects of major failures".
