Dareius

Dareius is a brand of Aveco de Bondt. Aveco de Bondt is the engineering firm of the international construction company VolkerWessels, and is active in the areas of spatial development, buildings, mobility & infrastructure, water, energy & sustainability, and industry. The company’s ambitions in the field of water engineering are embodied in its Water Business line. Wareco brings together more than 40 years of Aveco de Bondt’s water-related knowledge and expertise.

Dareius focuses on the international consultancy market with a specific water engineering program. It also holds the IT and Digital Twin competences. In this latter area, we work closely with our IT partner WINGS ICT Solutions. Together we stand for integrated hydraulic engineering and water management solutions through a Digital Twin approach, founded on a shared mission, vision and strategy.

Our Strategy
Our special focus is on urban delta areas around the world because that is where we can add value based on our experience of more than 40 years. Water expertise is essential to ensure the liveability of cities into the future. Water problems cannot wait. That is why we often take the initiative ourselves whenever we see realistic, sustainable, and practically viable solutions for our clients. Based on our clients’ wishes and ideas, we collaborate with them on achieving the most optimal solution. In doing so, we draw on our specialist knowledge and experience in the themes of Water Safety, Water Security, Resilient Urban Water and Digital Water. To create added value, we readily employ our Digital Twin approach. This approach provides integrated support for the realisation and the management and maintenance of water infrastructure. Our Digital Twin value proposition thus makes a unique contribution to improving efficiency and reducing costs.

Our main objective is to create in a pragmatic way a solution for a catchment or project area. Therefor we use our Dutch knowledge in combination with international project experience, to create the most suitable design for our customer. As an example, we are now asked to design a peak storage ( a solution to store a temporal peak flow) in an area where yearly floods are the biggest risk of losing income and crop yield. This design will help the locals to store water during floods and use it in times of drought. Comparable with an irrigation pond, but filled by a natural event.
