The GIZ operates in more than 130 countries and employs approximately 17,000 staff members worldwide. On behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), GIZ has been working in Indonesia since 1975 and opened its office in Jakarta the same year. Other parties that commission GIZ to carry out projects with Indonesia include the German Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Building and Nuclear Safety (BMUB), the German Federal Foreign Office (AA) and the European Union (EU). GIZ employs around 350 staff in Indonesia, including 50 seconded and 260 national personnel, 22 development workers and 13 CIM experts. |
