Compiling an executive summary to highlight their key takeaways, Team B #AsikMantab blew our minds with their remarkable ideas and, of course, preparation!

Day 1: Arriving at Pasuruan, these #YoungRiverLeaders did not waste their time at all (much ambitious crowd, in the best way). Jumping right into a group discussion and mentoring session, all participants did top off their grand designs and set themselves ready for the final presentation on the following day.
Day 2: It’s the final day! At long last, the five teams of Indonesia Healthy Rivers Challenge 2020 did a fantastic job pitching their ideas within a 20 minute presentation time, followed by a Q&A session with the experts and guests, both present in Pasuran and joined online from the Netherlands.
Day 3: Bromo trip! The participants, mentors and experts enjoyed the time exploring the Nangkojajar upper catchment. The view was breathtaking! Fulfilling the commitment to run a safe event by implementing health protocol, we were happy to see the attendees were tested negative based on the swab tests done on the third day.
Thank you to all participants, partners and experts for joining us and supporting us! We hope to see you again on the next adventure!

Brewing ideas for Integrated River Basin Management, the five incredible teams were involved in weekly mentoring sessions with our dedicated mentors from November 2020 to earlier this week. In this step, the teams were also encouraged to seek insights from other partners to shape their concept solutions (and they did not shy away).
Following the weekly mentoring sessions, each team was given 15 minutes to deliver their ideas on two fun virtual presentation sessions, which they executed very well! A round of applause for the hard work and dedication from the teams, mentors and partners.
Getting closer to Phase III, we are very excited to find out who will be the winner of the Indonesia Healthy Rivers Challenge. Are you?

The first day started with a full classroom activity where the participants learned from the experts about water resources management from different aspects and expertise.

The first day started with a full classroom activity where the participants learned from the experts about water resources management from different aspects and expertise.
The second and third day was filled with field visit! Our favorite part: THE BOAT. Row row row your boat gently down the stream! We had fun observing and making notes and learning from the ground. The other mission was team building, hardship (figuratively, they had fun) does bring people together.
The fourth day was the game day! We designed a River Stakeholder Game for our #YoungRiverLeaders to have fun while learning. The spirit to fight for their role was the essence of the game: to challenge them in finding a win-win solution through negotiations with every stakeholder.
The fifth and final day of Phase I was when we’re all dressed in Batik and presented the findings and offered a preliminary set of solutions to tackle the problems in the Welang River.
Entering Phase II of the Challenge, we are excited to see what each team has in store. Show us your best work, teams!
And we’re sure the #YoungRiverLeaders have a lot to share during Phase I of the Challenge. Don’t forget to mention us if you post something!

Hello, #YoungRiverLeaders! Here's a little throwback about #PortAcademy2020 in Terminal Kalibaru, Jakarta.
The first part, getting to know everyone! It's always fun to feel the excitement in the air (and to witness those shy hellos). On the first day, all participants, especially the teammates worked closely and mentored by the experts. We also got to visit the New Priok Container Terminal One (NPCT1) by following the Covid-19 protocol. Oh to be so small between those giant containers!
The second day was what we call as the fun day! We played the stakeholder games and argued, and negotiated, then argued some more. Every stakeholder (government, private, community and port authority) was encouraged to voice their priority and agenda, but also to listen to other's concerns. Meeting the common ground was the goal, but getting to that was sure challenging.
And, it's judgement day! Okay, that was too much, we mean it's the day where teams submitted their final masterpiece and explained why their ideas were THE best. Also, a pleasant popup visit from Minister Cora (The Netherlands Infrastructure and Water Management Minister) and her delegations. She mentioned the importance of the young generation to take the lead as #YoungMaritimeLeaders in the future and we couldn't agree more.

We will select 25-30 participants, the young and brightest university students and young professionals all across Indonesia.

Due to the situation of the Covid-19, we will bring a smart mix of offline and online activities depending on the developments.

The program will run through 3 phases, from mid-October until late November, so make sure you are motivated to complete the whole courses and challenges.

We will announce how to register yourself for the challenge on Thursday, 10th September.
